Privacy policy

L'Entité Nexus inc., which operates the Statisthic brand, is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to it. This policy explains what information we collect, why, with whom we share it, how long we keep it and what rights you may exercise. It is established in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR, c. P-39.1), as amended by Law 25.

1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information

In accordance with s. 3.1 of the Act, the person in charge is:

2. Information collected

We collect only what is necessary for the purposes described below.

  • Contact form: name, email, telephone (optional), subject and content of the message.
  • Statisthic Panel registration: first name, email and administrative region.
  • Survey responses: your answers, linked to a participation identifier and not to your name.
  • Technical data: the host's server logs (IP address, date and time, page requested), kept for security purposes.
  • Client engagements: the business contact details of the contact persons and, where applicable, the data sets that the client entrusts to us.

We collect no sensitive information through the site. The contact form also states that no confidential information is to be sent through that channel.

3. Purposes and basis of processing

  • respond to your requests and prepare a quote;
  • carry out the research engagements entrusted to us by our clients;
  • administer the Statisthic Panel: invite you to surveys, build sub-samples by region, avoid duplicates;
  • produce aggregate and anonymised research results;
  • ensure the security of the site and comply with our legal obligations.

Your consent is obtained as express, free and informed consent given for specific purposes (s. 14). For the Panel, it is obtained through a separate check box, unchecked by default.

4. Research results: aggregation and anonymisation

The results that we publish or deliver to a client are presented in aggregate form. No respondent is identifiable in a deliverable. Individual responses are never disclosed to a client, to a sponsor or to a third party. Where anonymisation is carried out, it is done according to the generally accepted criteria, so that re-identification is not reasonably foreseeable (s. 23).

5. No sale, no automated decision-making

We do not sell, rent or trade any personal information. No decision producing a legal effect or significantly affecting you is made solely on the basis of automated processing (s. 12.1).

6. Disclosure to third parties

Your information may be disclosed only:

  • to our technical suppliers, strictly to the extent necessary and under a contractual obligation of confidentiality (hosting, email, survey platform);
  • where the law requires it, or to assert our rights before the courts.

7. Cookies

This site sets only necessary cookies: storage of your choice regarding cookies and the proper operation of the forms. No analytics cookies and no profiling or advertising cookies are active at this date. If we were to activate one, your consent would be obtained beforehand, in accordance with s. 8.1. You may review your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page, or delete the cookies in the settings of your browser.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the sensitivity of the information: encrypted connection (HTTPS), restricted access to files, security headers, limits on login attempts to the administration area, and confidential exchanges exclusively through Proton Mail (end-to-end encryption).

9. Information hosted outside Quebec

Certain processing operations are carried out outside Quebec:

  • Site hosting: Hostinger International Ltd. (Cyprus, European Union) — infrastructure subject to the GDPR;
  • Email: Proton AG (Switzerland) — a country recognised as providing adequate protection;
  • Typefaces: Google Fonts, whose servers may be located outside Quebec. Calling these fonts transmits your IP address to that supplier.

In accordance with s. 17 of the Act, we have assessed that this information benefits from protection equivalent to that provided in Quebec, having regard to the sensitivity of the information concerned, the purpose of its use and the legal framework applicable in those countries.

10. Retention periods

  • Enquiries through the form: 24 months from the last exchange, then destruction.
  • Panel members: for as long as the registration is active, then 12 months after unsubscribing, solely so that we do not invite you again in error.
  • Survey responses: kept in dissociated form for 5 years for methodological verification purposes, then destroyed or permanently anonymised.
  • Client files: 7 years after the end of the engagement, in accordance with tax and accounting obligations.
  • Server logs: according to the host's policy, generally 30 days.

11. Your rights

By writing to info-statisthic@proton.me, you may:

  • access the information that we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal;
  • request its deletion or the cessation of its dissemination;
  • withdraw your consent, in particular by unsubscribing from the Panel;
  • receive your information in a structured and commonly used technological format (right to portability, s. 27);
  • file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

We respond within a maximum of 30 days. An unfavourable response is given in writing with reasons and states the available remedies.

12. Confidentiality incident

We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. In the event of an incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we promptly notify the Commission d'accès à l'information as well as the persons concerned, in accordance with sections 3.5 to 3.8 of the Act.

13. Minors

The Statisthic Panel is open only to persons aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information concerning minors through this site.

14. Amendments

This policy may be updated. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. Any substantial change will be brought to your attention by a notice on the site.
